Section of Tresser Boulevard in Stamford to be Closed for Pedestrian Bridge Demolition This Weekend

Tresser Boulevard between Washington Boulevard and Atlantic Street in Stamford will be closed this weekend due to the demolition of the St. John pedestrian bridge. Traffic and pedestrian detours are planned to go into effect this Saturday, November 10th at 12:00 a.m. and end Monday, November 12th at 5:00 a.m. Atlantic Station and St. John Towers will have limited access to Tresser Boulevard.

In addition, the north and southbound section of Washington Boulevard between Station Place and Henry Street will be limited to one lane due to building construction. Please plan accordingly for this weekend.

The following detours will be available for residents to use while the bridge demolition is taking place. Please see the detour map for further details on alternative routes.

· Tresser Boulevard Eastbound Traffic: Left (North) on Washington Boulevard, Right (East) on Main Street, Right (South) on Atlantic Street and Left (East) on Tresser Boulevard.

· Tresser Boulevard Westbound Through Traffic: Continue West on Broad Street, Left (South) on Washington and Right (West) on Tresser Boulevard.

· Tresser Boulevard Westbound Local Traffic: Left (South) on Atlantic Street, Right (West) on North State Street, Right (North) on Washington Boulevard and Left (West) on Tresser Boulevard.

Transportation Chief Jim Travers and City Traffic Engineer Garrett Bolella will host a press conference tomorrow, November 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Government Center Lobby on the road closings and demolition this weekend.
