SHU appoints director of career, professional development

FAIRFIELD, CT - Helen Boyke, of Stamford, is Sacred Heart University’s new director of career and professional development for graduate students and alumni.

Boyke started her career at Pitney Bowes Inc. in Stamford as an executive recruiter and human resources staffing specialist in 2007. She coached and trained contract and support employees, managed recruitment for all executive positions and selected interns from the INROADS college internship program.

More recently, Boyke served as the career and technical education counselor at Norwalk Community College, where she coached students in career planning, created and launched a Career Readiness Competencies initiative and prepared and marketed career service programs.

At SHU, Boyke will plan and execute the Center for Career and Professional Development’s services, programs, resources and engagement strategies as it pertains to graduate students and alumni. Additionally, she will be a conduit between employers and SHU’s students and alumni.

Boyke earned her master’s degree in organizational management and human resource development at Manhattanville College and obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in human resources from the University of Bridgeport.
